Athletic Training Major
As an athletic training student at William Woods University, you will study the prevention
and care of athletic injuries, exercise physiology, kinesiology, orthopedic and non-orthopedic
assessment, therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation, therapeutic modalities, nutrition,
personal health, human anatomy, human physiology, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
and general psychology. Students follow a prescribed four-year plan that prepares
them to sit for the Board of Certification exam. The ATEP has a competitive admissions
process, with selection based upon meeting the requirements set forth by the program.

Our program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
