William Woods University is a coeducational, independent, professions-orientated, liberal arts-based institution of approximately 3,500 students. Founded in 1870, the mission of William Woods has always been to provide an excellent education while ensuring personal development.

The university offers both graduate and undergraduate degrees in a variety of disciplines in both campus and outreach settings. The Woods has an undergraduate enrollment of 1,100; 850 of whom are enrolled at our Fulton campus. In addition, WWU has facilities in Columbia, Jefferson City and Blue Springs and offers degree programs in more than 125 communities throughout Missouri and new sites in Arkansas.

Located in the middle of the country, WWU draws students from 45 states. In fact, 33 percent of the traditional student body is from states other than Missouri. Additionally, students from approximately 20 foreign countries are pursuing degrees at The Woods, creating a unique cultural experience.

All WWU programs are distinct and offer unique, co-curricular learning opportunities for students.

1.  North America's foremost program in equestrian education and the first to offer (in 1972) a four-year equestrian science degree.

2.  One of only 25 schools in North America offering a baccalaureate degree in American Sign Language interpreting .

3.  A Mentor-Mentee program providing the opportunity for unique student-faculty research partnerships.

4.  The innovative LEAD program (Leading, Educating, Achieving and Developing) providing a $5,000 tuition reduction and promoting learning outside the classroom.

5.  Mid-Missouri's leader in graduate and adult studies programs for working adults, with courses offered in communities throughout Missouri.

International Students

Students from 9 foreign countries are pursuing their undergraduate degrees at WWU. Countries represented are: Australia, Canada, England, Great Britain, Netherlands, Spain and Taiwan.
