The next Heartland PeaceJam Youth Conference featuring 1976 Nobel Peace Laureate Betty Williams will be held on November 14-15, 2009.

This conference is designed for participants in the PeaceJam Ambassadors program who study the life and work of an individual Nobel Laureate while implementing projects in their own communitiies.

The conference features significant interaction with the Nobel Laureate in attendance. Participants engage in meaningful service during the conference as they gain inspiration from the Nobel Laureates and one another. Before they leave they present their plans for action to the Nobel Laureate.

WWU is the home of the Heartland Region Affiliate of PeaceJam.

PeaceJam is an international education program built around leading Nobel Peace Laureates who work personally with youth to pass on the spirit, skills and wisdom they embody. The goal of PeaceJam is to inspire a new generation of peacemakers who will transform their local communities, themselves and the world.
