NAIA Indoor Nationals Update

Shannon Shines at Nationals

(JOHNSON CITY, Tenn., March 6)--Freshman Terrell Shannon (Columbia, Mo.) finished 3rd in the 600 meter run at the 2010 NAIA Indoor Championships.  Shannon becomes the first William Woods indoor track athlete to become an NAIA All-American in the event.  He finished with a time of 1:19.85.  Shannon finished .70 seconds behind the event champion.  His time also set a new William Woods University school record (Shannon - 1:21.45 - 2009).  

 

Sophomore Cheryl Held (Wildwood, Mo.) competed in the finals of the 5000 meter run.  Held finished 12th with a time of 18:34.25.  Held appeared in her second consecutive 5000 meter finals at the NAIA National Championships. Held finished 7th at the 2009 championships.

Indoor Track and Field Departs for Nationals

(FULTON, Mo., March 3) –Six members of the William Woods University Indoor Track and Field team will compete in the 2009 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Indoor Championships March 4-6.  The event will take place in the Memorial Center “Mini Dome” on the campus of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn.  Events will begin at 1 pm on March 4, 10 am on March 5 and 10 am on March 6.
