AMC Announces All-Conference Team
(FULTON, Mo, Nov. 13) -Five members of the William Woods University women’s soccer team have been selected to the American Midwest Conference team. Anne Weaver, Kelsey Evans, Stephanie Kirvan, Caty Newbold and Anna Hatfield were selected Honorable Mention All-AMC.
Sophomore Anne Weaver (St. Charles, Mo.) was selected Honorable Mention All-AMC at the forward position. Weaver scored seven goals for the Owls this season. She was also selected Newcomer of the Year by the conference.
Senior Kelsey Evans (Troy, Ill.) was selected Honorable Mention All-AMC at the midfield position. Evans recorded five goals and three assists during the 2009 season.
Freshman Stephanie Kirvan (Sunrise Beach, Mo.) and sophomore Caty Newbold (Jefferson City, Mo.) were selected Honorable Mention All-AMC at the defender position. Kirvan recorded one goal for the Owls this season. Newbold added two goals and four assists for the Owls.
Freshman Anna Hatfield (Desoto, Ill.) was named Honorable Mention All-AMC at the goal keeper position. Hatfield recorded two shutouts and 98 saves for William Woods.
William Woods also placed five student-athletes on the 2009 AMC Academic All-Conference team:
