Citing a desire to invest in education in the State of Missouri, the Emerson Charitable Trust, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation and the H&R Block Bank all made substantial contributions to MCF.
The grants include $15,000 from Enterprise, $5,000 from H&R Block Bank and an undisclosed amount from Emerson. The grants will underwrite student scholarships at each of the MCF-member schools. These scholarships will be awarded by the member schools on the basis of financial need.
“We very grateful to these organizations and the Missouri Colleges Fund for these gifts,” said Jahnae H. Barnett, William Woods University president.
Westminster College President Fletcher Lamkin added, “This contribution recognizes the importance of education and the significant impact that an educated workforce has on Missouri’s economy.”
The MCF was formed in 1952 as a non-profit corporation. The MCF mission is to acquire resources to help educate students in its 13-member private liberal arts colleges and universities.
In addition to Westminster College and William Woods University, Missouri Colleges Fund member schools are Avila University, Kansas City; Central Methodist University, Fayette; Culver-Stockton College, Canton; Drury University, Evangel University, Springfield; Fontbonne University, Maryville University, Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis; Park University, Parkville; Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, and William Jewell College, Liberty.
