She was awarded the Faculty Award during the Academic Convocation and also received the Distinguished Scholar in Business Administration Award. She was also named to the 2008 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges” and received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Senior Award.
The Faculty Award is given to the graduate magna cum laude or summa cum laude “who, in the estimation of the faculty of William Woods, has shown exemplary devotion and commitment to the life of the mind.”
Luisi was one of 13 William Woods University students selected for Who’s Who, based on being an outstanding campus leader. A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
By being listed in “Who’s Who,” Luisi joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.
Luisi has been the vice president, foundation ambassador and scholarship chair for Chi Omega. She is president of Delta Epsilon Chi, a competitive business organization; vice president of Phi Beta Lambda, an honorary business club, and a member of Presidents Twenty. She is a member of Order of Omega, a Greek honor society, and a recipient of both the Presidential and Honors Scholarship.
