|FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE||(573) 592-1127|
Gospel singer and songwriter, Crystal Cooper, will sing at William Woods University this month. Her performance, at 6 p.m. April 28 in Cutlip Auditorium of the McNutt Campus Center, is free and open to the public.
Compared to contemporary artists like Corinne Bailey Rae and CeCe Winans, Cooper is a 21-year-old who hopes to motivate and inspire listeners with her upbeat music and positive lyrics. She draws influence from a broad spectrum, everything from jazz icon Billie Holiday to Gospel/R&B powerhouse Aretha Franklin.
Raised in a household of musical talent, Cooper began singing in church at a very early age and by the end of high school had mastered the guitar and written several original songs.
A recent college graduate, Cooper has released her first album, which has been described as easy listening, spiritual, contemporary gospel music with a fresh sound.
Cooper’s performance at William Woods is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs. For more information, contact , coordinator, at (573) 592-4358 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
