William Woods University’s education club, EDU Owls, partnered with Bartley Elementary School to collect more than $800 in the Callaway County United Way Penny Drive.
After learning about the local United Way organization from EDU Owls members, Bartley Elementary students designed containers to collect pennies for the penny drive at the elementary school and the university.
EDU Owls members collected money during the week from WWU residence halls, as well as from students on campus. The containers were then taken to Bartley Elementary on Thursday, and the pennies from both schools were counted by the elementary students.
On Friday, EDU Owls and Bartley Elementary students presented a check totaling $829.90 to the United Way during its Radiothon.
