A William Woods University graphic design major and graduate of South Callaway High School, Katherine (Katie) Binkley of Fulton, Mo., will display her art work in a solo exhibit at WWU through Dec. 11.
Binkley, who will graduate from WWU on Dec. 11, says, “My inspiration comes from many different places: my dreams, things that happen in everyday life and emotions that I am feeling when I am creating a new piece of art. And I don’t have a favorite piece. I love all of them because they reflect who I am.”
Her art exhibit will include a collection of charcoal drawings, acrylic paintings, photography and graphic design advertising.
“My experience as an art major at William Woods has been great. I’ve learned so much about art and life,” said Binkley, who looks forward to graduating.
An opening reception of her exhibit will take place 4-6 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 1) in the Mildred M. Cox Gallery of the Gladys Woods Kemper Center for the Arts. Students, faculty and general public are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The Cox Gallery is open to the public Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. For more information about this exhibit, call 573-592-4245.
