WWU Hires New Dean of Business for Graduate & Adult Studies

Dr. JheriKeith Alkire joins William Woods University as the new dean of business for the WWU Graduate & Adult Studies program. She comes to William Woods from Ottawa University, Ottawa, Kan., where she served as an assistant professor and coordinator during her 10 years there.
“Keith has the experience, drive and administrative acumen to lead WWU's Graduate and Adult Studies’ business programs, Dr. Michael Westerfield, vice president and dean of Graduate & Adult Studies, said.
“I am confident that she will succeed in this role as dean of business programs, working with faculty, staff and students to meet the university’s strategic goals concerning innovative academic program delivery and a high-quality student experience.”
Alkire graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. degree in business administration at Ottawa University. She went on to earn a master of science degree in administration from Central Michigan University, as well as master of business administration and master of arts in human resources degrees from Ottawa University. She earned her Ph.D. from Walden University. Alkire also holds adult advanced education certification for Missouri.
Formerly a certified radiologic technologist, Alkire began teaching in 1999 as an adjunct faculty member at Ottawa University. In 2000, she expanded her duties as an ESL (English as a Second Language) instructor at Penn Valley Community College. She also taught healthcare students a variety of medically-related topics, and instructed business students enrolled in the B.A. program.
Alkire has been an assistant professor and adjunct coordinator at Ottawa University since 2006, teaching graduate classes and advising graduate and adult studies students.
Alkire is a licensed, certified online instructor and holds adult basic education certification, adult advanced education certification and various medical certifications.
