The speaker, Peggy Maki, is affiliated with the American Association for Higher Education, where she is involved in Assessing for Learning. She spoke to faculty members from both campuses and met with each academic division at William Woods to discuss program assessment processes.
Maki is currently writing a book on assessment that refers to several elements of WWU’s assessment process as exemplary models. The book is to be published in January 2004.
She also directs an annual AAHE Assessment Conference that will be held in Seattle in June 2003. Betsy Tutt, William Woods University’s vice president and academic dean, and Sherry McCarthy, associate academic dean, will attend the conference. They have been chosen to present a workshop at the conference on “Designing Assessment for an Innovative Program Outside the Classroom.”
