Alumni from the class of 1953 will become the Grande-Dames of the university Saturday morning. The title of Grande-Dames is bestowed on alumni who graduated from William Woods 50 or more years ago.
A luncheon and awards ceremony on Saturday will honor the reunion classes, as well as award recipients. Colonel R.J. Rouse of Springfield, Mass., will receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award, and Virginia “Piggie” Herndon of Fulton will receive the Outstanding Service Award.

Two new activities have been added for Saturday afternoon. A student panel will discuss Campus Life 101 to give alumni some insight into the life of today’s college student. Later, alumni of the men’s and women’s soccer teams will take on the current teams in what is hoped will become an annual event. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Firley Soccer Field. There will be awards and a traveling trophy.
