William Woods University to host Jenzabar Regional Users Group

William Woods University will be the host university for the annual Jenzabar Regional Users Group Oct. 21. Jenzabar is a leading provider of software, strategies and services developed to meet the needs of higher education institutions.

The main focus of the meeting will be for users throughout the region to share information, assist one another with using the software and help to develop new or improved functions.
 
The Jenzabar Regional Users Group will include approximately 75 participants from colleges in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. Representatives from several departments on the WWU campus will also attend.
 
With programs that organize and maintain records, to programs that connect departments throughout the campus, Jenzabar helps colleges and universities in the areas of enrollment, retention and advancement.
 
“I use Jenzabar for 90 percent of what I do,” said Sharon Horn, admissions applicant coordinator. “We use it to keep track of all applicant records—when they were recruited,  when they apply, when they’re accepted.”
 
She added, “Once a student attends WWU, their grades and schedule, account information and alumni info is also entered into Jenzabar. Owlnet is also a product that receives its information from Jenzabar. It is an integral part of the day-to-day operations for many departments on campus.”

Horn made the arrangements to bring the event here and is chairing a committee of Jim Long, director of university information technology; Dr. Erin Hansman, director of institutional research, and Brenda Foster, community development officer.
 
The meeting will offer a wide range of sessions designed to help different departments, as well as different levels of user, from the basic user to information technology staff.
 
Jenzabar representatives will demonstrate and promote new software products, as well as assist users with the software they currently have. The users group also provides an opportunity for other companies with similar products to present them to colleges and universities in the region.
 
Registration will be at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 21 at the Gladys Woods Kemper Center for the Arts. There is no registration fee to attend this one-day meeting, and lunch is included. For more information on attending or presenting, contact Horn at sharon.horn@williamwoods.edu.
