The men of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at William Woods University held their fifth annual golf tournament Friday, raising $800 for the Scleroderma Foundation. It was a great performance by the top three teams, with the final results coming down to the last few holes.

For the past five years the Pikes have held their tournament at the Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton as a fundraiser for the fraternity, as well as to raise money for a charity. This year they chose to donate the money raised to the Scleroderma Foundation in memory of Lyndsey Ellis, a member of Alpha Chi Omega, who died last year.  Her brother, Ryan, is a Pike.

This year 17 teams of four entered the tournament, making it a very competitive tournament. There were two divisions, one for Pikes and alumni and the other for family, friends and faculty.

The Pike division was separated by a mere two strokes with Chris Reinert's team coming out on top with a score of 54. His father and two other friends made up the rest of the team.

"For being a senior and competing in the golf tournament for the first time, it could not have been a better experience,” said Zach Hurst, a member of the second place team. “I had a great time."

Many nearby businesses and individuals helped make the day a success by donating money and prizes. Overall the atmosphere was great. It was a fun and competitive tournament whether you came out on top or not.
