WWU Attends Successful Missouri Arabian Horse Association Horse Show

Six riders from William Woods University's western club attended the Missouri Arabian Horse Association horse show in Lake St. Louis, Mo., March 16-18. All equestrian science majors, they competed in a variety of performance and halter classes throughout the weekend.

Christine Whittier, a junior from Elk River, Minn., and Tarbask Desert Indian placed:
  • first in HA/AA Western Pleasure Limit horse
  • first in HA/AA Open Western Pleasure
  • Champion in HA/AA Open Western Pleasure Championship
  • first in HA/AA Geldings Two and Over
  • Champion in HA/AA Geldings in Hand Championship

 
Erin Springer, a junior from Siloam Springs, Ark., and Tosk Diamond placed:
  • first in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure Limit Horse
  • first in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure AATR
  • first in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure Novice Horse
  • first in HA/AA Gelding in Hand ATH
  • second in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure ATR Select Rider
  • second in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure Open
  • second in HA/AA Gelding in Hand
  • third in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure ATR Championship
  • Reserve in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure Open Championship
  • Reserve in Geldings in Hand Championship

 
Cheryl Pollock, a senior from Colorado Springs, Colo., and PKH Dakota placed:
  • Reserve Champion in HA/AA Open Western   Pleasure Championship
  • first in HA/AA Western Pleasure Select Rider
  • third in HA/AA Gelding in Hand ATH
  • third in HA/AA Western Pleasure ATR
  • third in HA/AA Open Western Pleasure
  • fourth in HA/AA Gelding in Hand, 2 and over
 




Georgia Hellum-Willits,
a sophomore from Portland, Ore., and WV Kyss of Fame placed:
  • second in HA/AA Western Pleasure ATR
  • second in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure Novice horse
  • second in IABS HA/AA Western Pleasure Open
  • second in HA/AA Geldings In Hand ATH
  • third in HA/AA Western Pleasure Open Championship
  • third in HA/AA Geldings In Hand Two and Over
  • fourth in IABS HA/AA Hunter Pleasure Open

Jessie Steinhoff, a senior from Union, Mo.,and WV Majorific (Oliver) debuted in his first off-campus show and placed:
  • second in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure Junior Horse
  • third in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure Novice Horse
  • fourth in HA/AA Sport Horse Under Saddle Junior Horse
  • fifth in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure Limit Horse

 
Priscilla Calvird, a senior from St. Louis, Mo., and Destin to Impress placed:
  • second in Arabian Hunter Pleasure Geldings
  • third in IABS Arabian Hunter Pleasure Open
  • fifth in Arabian Sport Horse Open
  • fifth in Arabian Hunter Pleasure ATR Championship
