Children in the Fulton area will have an opportunity to express their artistic side through fun activities during the Kemper Kids Summer Creativity Camp at William Woods University in July.

The camp for children in kindergarten through fifth grade will be hosted by the Mildred Cox Gallery and held in the Gladys Woods Kemper Center for the Arts.

Jennifer Sain, gallery coordinator, said students will be "inspired to use their imagination, create art and have fun."

The camp will consist of three weeklong sessions, running Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Session one, "Green Art," begins July 9 and focuses on creating art by repurposing recycled items. The second session, "Artist Colony," runs July 16-20 and concentrates on traditional art methods. The camp ends with its third session, "Artrageous," July 23-27, during which kids will "get crazy" with messy fun art such as paper mache and tie-dye.

Children will also have the opportunity to create puppets and plays, explore the radio station and broadcasting studio on the university's campus, create outdoor projects, play games, watch movies and participate in interactive storytelling time. At the end of the session, the children's artwork will be displayed in the Mildred M. Cox Gallery.

The fee for each session is $150 and includes all arts and crafts materials, a camp t-shirt, snacks and drinks. A $25 discount applies to multiple week attendees, additional children and William Woods employees. For more information or to register your child, contact Sain at (573) 592-4245 or jennifer.sain@williamwoods.edu. The registration deadline is June 1.
