WWU student named to athletic training leadership position

William Woods University student Benjamin Struemph of Jefferson City, Mo., is the new president of the National Athletic Trainer's Association District V Student Leadership Committee.

Struemph, who just completed his freshman year at The Woods, was appointed president by his peers on the committee. As president, his duties include directing the meetings, selecting committee chairs, assigning duties and serving as the official spokesperson.
Active on the WWU campus, Struemph also recently received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Freshman Award, awarded to him by the nomination and votes of fellow students.
A member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, he served as freshman judicial board member and fundraising chairman. He also was Student Alumni Council freshman class president and a member of the Athletic Training Student Organization.
Struemph is head student assistant for WWU basketball and a volunteer for the WWU Theatre Department. He also serves as a WWU's representative to the Missouri Athletic Trainer's Association Student Leadership Council.
Along with his extensive involvement on campus, Struemph volunteers for the Michael J. Fox Foundation and highway cleanups.
