A William Woods University student is a clubhouse management intern for a minor league baseball team in Mobile, Ala., for the 2012 baseball season.

The intern, Taylor Clark, is a junior at WWU, majoring in sports management, with the ultimate goal of a career in professional sports management.  He is the son of Jim and Lisa Clark of Fulton.

The team he is interning with, the Mobile BayBears, were the 2011 champions of the Southern League and are a Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Clark, whose first day was April 25, will reside in Mobile and work at the team's Hank Aaron Stadium until the end of the season in mid-September. He will learn how a professional baseball clubhouse operates while assisting clubhouse managers in daily operations and attending to the players, coaches and staff of the baseball team.

After finding the internship through Professional Baseball Employment Opportunities, he went through several phone interviews before being offered the position.

Clark said, "The best part of the internship is by far all the interaction with the coaches and players; becoming friends with future major league baseball players. It's amazing being around professional athletes all day."
