Kimberly Brixey Barnes, a William Woods University alumna, received the Alumni Service Award at the Fulton Colleges Board of Associates annual dinner Tuesday night at WWU.

Originally from West Plains, Mo., Barnes graduated from William Woods University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a minor in computer science. She then started her career as a lobby assistant at The Callaway Bank.

Today, several titles and many accomplishments later, she serves at the senior executive vice president and chief operations officer for the bank. She also sits on the board of directors. Barnes is the first woman to hold either of these titles for The Callaway Bank.

Behind the scenes at The Callaway Bank, she has spearheaded many of the bank's products and services initiatives and the information technology department.

A strong supporter of the United Way and Relay for Life, Barnes also serves as a member of SERVE's Board of Directors. She is a Board of Associates member and serves on the President's Community Council at William Woods.

Barnes serves on the board of directors for the Missouri Independent Banker's Association and is a member of the Missouri Banker's Association and Independent Community Banker's Association.

She and her husband, Rob, live in the Auxvasse area.
