WWU Western Riders Compete in Ozark Arabian Horse Show

Riders from the William Woods University Western Club competed in the Ozark Heartland Arabian Classic Show I in October in Mt. Vernon, Mo. Four riders and four horses competed at the show, with outstanding results.

Horses of all ages and training levels attended the show, including WV Majorific (Oliver). Oliver, a four-year-old half Arabian, is a training project of Erin Springer, a senior at WWU.
 
Springer has been working with Oliver since the beginning of the semester and has seen great strides in his training.
 
“I was really happy with how Oliver performed over the weekend. He has come so far in his training and I was very impressed with how well he handled showing in a new environment.”

Jennie Petterson, assistant professor of equestrian studies and adviser for the Western Club at WWU, was pleased with the results of the show.
 
 “It’s hard to be anything but thrilled when we were able to win all of the championships that we entered. I was so pleased with both our students and how our horses performed.”
