Revelwood's Jacks Are Wild was Reserve Champion in the ASB Western Pleasure World Championship, held at the St. Louis National Charity Horse Show Sept. 27.
Shatner donated Revelwood's Jacks Are Wild to the university a year ago. “Jack” was one of 25 horses from across the country that arrived to compete for the William Shatner Perpetual Trophy and World Championship title.
Stephanie Hill, a WWU senior from Harrisburg, showed the horse in the Saddle & Bridle magazine’s American Saddlebred Shatner Western Pleasure Finals. “Jack” and Stephanie are coached by Karen Craighead, Western instructor at William Woods.
Shatner, the original Captain Kirk of Star Trek fame, was the commencement speaker for William Woods University in May 2001. One of the most versatile and beloved personalities in show business, Shatner is a successful director, writer, actor and producer.
He also is an accomplished horseman, which ties him to William Woods and its world- renowned equestrian program. Over the years, he has donated a number of horses to the university.
