WWU to Produce Neil Simon’s Comedy ‘Rumors’

In the play, four couples gather to celebrate the wedding anniversary of the deputy major of New York and his wife—only to discover he has ineptly tried to commit suicide; his wife, butler and cook are missing, and his lawyer is scrambling to cover everything up.
Performances are scheduled in Cutlip Auditorium of the McNutt Campus Center for April 23, 24 and 30 and May 1 at 8 p.m. A matinee performance is scheduled for April 25 at 2:30 p.m.
Chosen for the cast are: Lindsey Mertes, a senior from Branson, Mo.; Ryan Paul, a junior from Olathe, Kan.; Christy Pinz, a senior from St. Peters, Mo.; Jared Krichevsky, a senior from Culver City, Calif.; Joshua Potter, a sophomore from Fulton, Mo.; Meghan Parks, a sophomore from Quincy, Ill.; Jason Flauaus, a senior from St. Charles, Mo.; Lindz Pace, a senior from Rolla, Mo.; Grant Lierheimer, a December graduate from Mexico, Mo., and Kristin Bailey, a freshman from Columbia, Mo.
Joe Potter, WWU assistant professor of performing arts and artistic director of theatre, is directing this theatre production and designing the set. Shaun Speers, a freshman from O’Fallon, is designing lights, and Jane Freidman, WWU theatre department costumer, is designing costumes.
Tickets go on sale April 12. Prices are $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for children 3-12. Children under the age of 3 will not be admitted. This production contains adult language and is not recommended for children. For tickets, call the box office at (573) 592-4267.
