Cooper Receives Awards

The daughter of Richard and Carolyn Cooper of Red Bud, Ill., she also has been named to the 2004 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
Cooper is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in computer and information science, as well as a bachelor of art degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations.
The President’s Award is presented to the graduating senior who has made unusual and outstanding contributions to the university during his or her undergraduate years. The recipient of the President’s Award must display sound academic accomplishments and demonstrate characteristics of loyalty, service and devotion to William Woods University, as well as extensive participation in campus activities and evidence of personal leadership.
Cooper was honored for her involvement in numerous campus organizations and service projects, including President’s 20 chair; orientation assistant; International Club secretary, Woods Wire secretary and Campus Activities Board. She also has been active in Chi Omega sorority, serving as friendship chair, Panhellenic delegate, Rho Chi and house corporation chair.
She served as a tutor at Fulton Community Center and a writing assistant in the English Department. She served an internship with the technology office of the Fulton Public Schools and the promotions department of Zimmer Radio Group.
She was the Student Alumni Council Outstanding Senior, is listed on the National Dean’s List and was the recipient of a Leadership Scholarship. She also has been president of Phi Beta Lambda Business Honorary and secretary of Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honorary.
