UIT provides one computer to every faculty and staff member every four years or so. We provide desktop PCs because some of the programs needed by most people on campus on run on PCs. If you would like a different computer, UIT will provide approximately $1100 toward the purchase of a computer if your department or division will pick up the rest. This will be approximately $800 for a laptop and between $1 and 2,000 for a Mac.

UIT is on a four year hardware replacement schedule. this means that faculty and staff computers should be replaced every four years. It wont necessarily be replaced with a new machine, but you will get a more recent model on your desk.

If you believe you are up for replacement this year, or your computer is failing early, please fill out the form below for a new one. UIT plans for hardware replacement in late spring and you will be notified of our decision by the end of May.
