Casey Wieder

Interim Director of Intercollegiate Athletics

Casey Wieder joined WWU from Ottawa University, in Ottawa, Kansas, where he served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Enrollment from 2020-2022. During his time at Ottawa, enrollment goals were eclipsed in each of three years culminating with the largest incoming freshman and transfer class in 35 years.

Casey arrived at WWU in October of 2022 as the Associate Director of Athletic Enrollment/Media Corps Coordinator, establishing the WWU Media Corps program which offers scholarships to high school and community college transfer students with skills in sports broadcasting, videography, graphic design, photography, and production. In March of 2023 he was named Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Enrollment and Media where he served as liaison between WWU athletics and enrollment management. He was also responsible for the creation of the William Woods Sports Network the home for all WWU athletic events. In September of 2024 Wieder was named Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs. Leading the Sports Information Office staff, managing social media, website, and outside media contact. Along with the operation of the BSN Sideline Store which has increased profits by 45% year to date.

A graduate of both Ottawa University (Bachelor’s - 2012) and Concordia University (masters-2017). Wieder hails from North Richland Hills, Texas, he has one daughter (Kenzie, 7), and one son (Graham, 5).
