Apply for Financial Aid

The excitement of leaving home and living on your own is invigorating. Now, the challenge of developing a plan to pay for your decision becomes a reality!

The following information will help you understand the process followed at William Woods University to access federal financial aid.

If you are interested in accessing federal aid you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Steps to Apply for Federal Financial Aid

  1. Acceptance to WWU is required before a formal offer of financial assistance can be made.
  2. Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after January 1 is required. The application may be completed online at FAFSA

    • William Woods University's preferred deadline is March 1.

    • William Woods University's Federal School Code is 002525.

    • NOTE: If your FAFSA is selected for verification, you will be notified by the student financial services office for additional paperwork.

  3. Upon receipt of your acceptance to WWU and the completed FAFSA, your eligibility for federal financial assistance will be determined. Notification of your eligibility, in the form of an award letter will be mailed to you. Accept or decline the award and return the original to the Student Financial Services Office.

To be eligible for federal financial aid you must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours for Undergraduate.
